His twenty-fourth birthday, 1917


Private Joe Yeates, an engine driver from Puckle Street, Moonee Ponds died from wounds on his 24th birthday in 1917, and was buried at the Heilly Station Cemetery.  Rod Martin traces the movements of Private Yeates from his enlistment in 1915.
